Title: Parenting Your Child With Special Needs Through Positive Discipline

Description: This class is for parents who have children with special needs, ages 3 to 10 years old, and who are looking for long-term parenting skills to help their children, strengthen their sense of belonging and significance in the family, learn about feelings and ways to express them in positive ways, think about social solutions for their everyday challenges, show greater concern and respect for others, become more responsible at home and in the community. This class will show you how to use practical tools adapted for children with special needs, to be more effective as a parent and have fun in the process, discipline your children with kindness and firmness, create an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation, and develop consistent routines with your children.
Location: St. Paul Luteran Church, 1658 Excelsior, Oakland, CA
Cost: $200, includes the book Positive Discipline by Jane Nelsen and the class reader.
