Teresa LaSala, a Certified Positive Discipline Author, Facilitator and Lead Trainer, provides high level training, consultation and ongoing supportive services in public, private, charter and parochial schools throughout the United States and internationally in countries such as Iceland, France, and the UK. She has facilitated certification trainings and workshops drawing school leaders and participants from around the world i.e.; Egypt, China, Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil, to name a few.

She served for 8 years on the Positive Discipline Association's International Board of Directors, and regularly facilitates Positive Discipline in the School and Classroom and Parenting with Positive Discipline certification training's for the Positive Discipline Association (www.positivediscipline.org).

Teresa is a Whole Child Faculty Member - Regional Specialist for ASCD (an educational leadership organization, www.ascd.org). She serves as a School Culture and Climate Initiative Coordinator with The United Way of Northern New Jersey/Collage of St. Elizabeth's' Youth Empowerment Alliance Program working with schools throughout NJ; and has received an award from the NJ State Department of Education, as part of a team, for implementing a "Role Model SEL and Character Education Program" (based on the Positive Discipline Whole School Model). She is a licensed nurse with 23 years of experience in the areas of Family and Pediatric Care, Child Development, and General Medicine.

Teresa resides in Denville, NJ with her husband Jim and 2 daughters, Meaghan and Lauren, who have been her greatest joy and teachers.

Kathleen McClay
Kathleen McClay, a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, facilitates classes and workshops for parents and educators that focus upon building respectful relationships at home and in the classroom. She is a former preschool director with many years of experience in the field of early childhood education. Her degree in special education inspired in her a passion to help children develop the skills necessary to become capable, contributing members of their kindergarten classrooms and beyond.

Kathleen serves as a Consultant with the School Culture and Climate Initiative, a partnership between United Way of Northern New Jersey and the College of Saint Elizabeth, and is a member United Way Success By 6 Social Emotional Learning Team.

She resides in Green Village, New Jersey with her husband and two daughters.

Workshop Descriptions: 
Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way (developed by Lynn Lott and Jane Nelsen) is a research-based parent education program that provides a step-by-step approach to starting and leading experientially based parenting groups. This program stands alone or offers significant enhancement to any program. It provides experiential activities that reach the heart to inspire deeper understanding and change. 

Participants in this workshop will: 

  1. Learn research based effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kindand firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive). 
  2. Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert. 
  3. Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children. 
  4. Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes and individual work with families

Cost: $375 early registration, available until March 24, 2017. $425 regular registration. $10.00 Discount for Groups of 4 or more. Dual - Back to Back Workshops: TP and PDC. CES: The Positive Discipline Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider. ACEP No. 6723. This program also is co-sponsored by the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP). NASAP is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for Psychologists.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. 

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
