Add-On Certification for Trainers: 导师资质的增项申请

Add-on Certification is available for Trainers who previously completed Advanced Training in either Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way OR Positive Discipline in the Classroom. Post ACT, these Trainers complete additional field experience for the other Certification requirements. For example, a Trainer attending ACT in Teaching Parenting ONLY may later complete all Classroom requirements to be considered for Trainer Certification in Positive Discipline in the Classroom. If you are interested in Add-on Certification, please contact Kelly Gfroerer, Executive Director at act@positivediscipline.org. There is a $100 Application Fee.

Requirements for Add-on Certification include: 导师资质增项申请的要求

− 3 Written Recommendations from people who know your Positive Discipline work.
One should come from each Lead Trainer who facilitated your ACT. (Total of 2)
One should come from someone who knows your work in your fieldwork for the Add-on request.
Written Recommendations should be sent on your behalf to 
act@positivediscipline.org.

 Participant evaluations of at least two (12-14 hour,six weeks ) parenting classes, with minimum of 8 attendees

 Summary report of activities included in agenda. Goal is core activities taught at least 2 times, and candidate feels confident with material prior to attending ACT.

For TP and/or ECE Certified Trainer with the goal of adding PDC Trainer Certification: TP家长导师 / ECE早期儿童教育导师申请增加PDC学校导师资质

Option A: Working in your Own Classroom: Requires teaching the essential skills for a Positive Discipline Classroom, Essential Skills for Class Meetings, and facilitating Class Meetings on a regular basis and including using agenda and working with students on problem solving and follow up on how solutions worked. This process would be expected to run the course of a school year.

 A PDC evaluation form completed by a direct supervisor, CPDT or CPDLT.

Option B: Working in Other Teachers’ Classrooms: Requires teaching the essential skills for a Positive Discipline Classroom, Essential Skills for Class Meetings, and facilitating Class Meetings including using agenda and working with students on problem solving and follow up on how solutions worked. This entire process should take place in a minimum of two different classrooms within a school year.

Note: The goal is that all essential activities be taught at least twice, or until the applicant feels confident with the material, prior to attending ACT or requesting co-leading two core workshops. (PDA pre-approved)

The word “classroom” here is intended to have a broad application. A classroom may be a public or private grade school classroom, an afternoon program classroom, a day or residential treatment program setting, a childcare classroom or a preschool classroom. Other group settings not listed here may be considered appropriate as well.

A 2 Page Reflection of your reading of Positive Discipline: The First Three Years OR Positive Discipline for Preschoolers阅读《0-3岁孩子的正面管教》或者《3-6岁孩子的正面管教》,撰写一份2页的读书心得。

Observe in an early childhood classroom for a minimum of 6 hours. You are encouraged to arrange to be onsite to watch as the children enter the classroom and observer either 2 half days, if the program is a half day program, OR one full day in a childcare program providing full day care. (This is recommended to take place after you attend the Positive Discipline for Early Childhood Educators AND finish the reading.)

在幼儿课堂上至少观察全天的6小时。我们鼓励你从孩子入园开始观察。如果你参与的是半日制学校,那么就是两个半天,如果是全日制学校,就是一整天的观察。(强烈建议在你参加ECE讲师认证班和完成上述书籍的阅读后开展观察。)
