She offers Positive Discipline training for parents and schools who are looking for an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviors. Cathy specializes in parent participation and cooperative school programs and has additional training in early childhood education.     Workshop Descriptions:
    This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to:
    1. Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches.
    2. Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures.
    3. Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect.
    4. Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change.
    5. Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving.
    6. Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.
    7. Gain information on how to address the effects of childhood trauma and insecure attachment.

    Cost: $375 early registration, available until June 25, 2017. $425 regular registration. Four (4) or more registering together take $50 off the fee. Limit 24.

    Tammy Keces M.A. is the principal of Irvine Hebrew Day School, an academically progressive school founded on Positive Discipline. This workshop will be held on the school site at IHDS, providing a unique opportunity to see first hand all the materials, curriculum and a learning environment used to implement Positive Discipline. Tammy holds a multiple subject teaching credential, a K-12 administrative services credential, a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Columbia University. Prior to becoming principal at IHDS Tammy had been working as an educational consultant and Positive Discipline parent educator, coaching public, charter and private school administrators, providing professional development training and mentoring for teachers and staff. Tammy brings many years of experience working with dynamic, creative and engaging curriculum to meet the needs of the whole child and is eager to share how to balance academic rigor with social emotional learning and character development.

    Descripción del Taller: 
    Este es un taller de entrenamiento intensivo que se desarrolla durante dos días full day, donde los participantes aprenden técnicas basadas en el respeto mutuo para implementar sus propias clases para padres, utilizando el modelo de Disciplina Positiva. Al concluir el entrenamiento obtendrán el diploma a nombre de la Positive Discipline Association que los certifica como Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator (CPDPE).

    Todos los talleres de certificación cumplen los estándares de la Asociación de Disciplina Positiva y para nosotros como organización es maravilloso que a partir de ahora las personas en Mexico tengan la oportunidad de beneficiarse de este curso sin tener que desplazarse de nuestro país. 

    Dirigido a: 

    • Educadores y psicólogos que quieran aprender una nueva metodología y herramientas basadas en el respeto mutuo, la firmeza y la amabilidad al mismo tiempo.

    Certificarse como CPDPE le permitirá: 

    • Conocer la filosofía de la Disciplina Positiva y el modelo Adleriano e integrarlos a su ejercicio profesional y vida personal. 
    • Ofrecer tus propias clases para padres, usando el modelo de siete semanas (o consolidarlo en un taller de dos días) para enseñar a los padres métodos efectivos de disciplina (firmeza y amabilidad al mismo tiempo) y cómo aplicarlos en su vida diaria. 
    • Ofrecer charlas y conferencias introductorias sobre el modelo de la Disciplina Positiva. Disponer de un conjunto de herramientas y materiales adaptables a diferentes edades y grupos. 
    • Vivenciar ejercicios experienciales que ayudan a "ir más allá" de la comprensión intelectual y lograr un cambio de paradigma.

Julie spends most of her professional time working with teachers, parents, and parent educators in individualized coaching sessions, classes, workshops and teacher in-services.

    3. Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children. 
    4. Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes and individual work with families
