Advanced Training Application Requirements:

To help applicants organize their field experience, the ACT checklist is provided for Teaching Parenting and Positive Discipline in the Classroom Trainer Certification options. Currently, trainers seeking certification in Early Childhood at the trainer level have the option to complete Add-on certification.

− Complete “Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way” workshop sponsored or recognized by PDA

− Complete “Positive Discipline in the Classroom” workshop sponsored or recognized by PDA

− Trainer Candidate Application and Letter of Intent.  Active Trainer Candidate for a minimum 1 year.

− Attend Think Tank or an approved China Conference at least once (strongly recommended)

− Summary report on a book by Adler or Dreikurs, reflecting on 1-2 key principles or ideas

− Written reflection on Jane Nelsen's Positive Discipline book (This is also available in many different languages.)

Advanced Training Agreement 高级培训合约

− 2 Written Recommendations from people who know your Positive Discipline work. This could be a Mentor, Trainer, Lead Trainer, or people you've worked with in schools.

− Virtual Interview or Video Essay after all documentation has been received and approved. (Translator will be provided as needed.)

For Teaching Parenting Certification / 家长导师认证:

It is recommended that you complete as many 6 week Parenting Classes series as you can before applying for ACT. It is required to submit all of the documentation listed below for each Parenting Class you submit. 2 Complete Sets are required

Participant evaluations of at least two (more than 12-14 hours, parenting classes, with minimum of 8 attendees 至少两次(12小时-14小时,持续6周)工作坊中的学员评估,至少8位参与者

For Positive Discipline in the Classroom Certification / 正面管教在教室认证:

Option A: Working in your Own Classroom: Requires teaching the essential skills for a Positive Discipline Classroom, Essential Skills for Class Meetings, and facilitating Class Meetings on a regular basis and including using agenda and working with students on problem solving and follow up on how solutions worked. This process would be expected to run the course of a school year. 
选项A:在你自己的班级带领:需要教授正面管教在教室的基础技能、班会的基础技能,以及定期带领班会,包括使用班会日程、与学生共同工作解决问题以及解决方案的跟进。这一流程在学校进行一年。

 A PDC evaluation form completed by a direct supervisor, CPDT or CPDLT 一份“证明管教在教室”评估表,由直属主管、正面管教导师或正面管教高级导师完成

 A face sheet detailing times, location and dates of classroom work 封面列明班级活动的时间、地点和日期

 Complete the PDC Essential Skills and Class Meetings Reflections 完成“正面管教核心技能与班会反馈”

Option B: Working in Other Teachers’ Classrooms: Requires teaching the essential skills for a Positive Discipline Classroom, Essential Skills for Class Meetings, and facilitating Class Meetings including using agenda and working with students on problem solving and follow up on how solutions worked. This entire process should take place in a minimum of two different classrooms within a school year.
选项B:在其他老师的班级带领:需要教授正面管教在教室的基础技能、班会的基础技能,以及定期带领班会,包括使用班会日程、与学生共同工作解决问题以及解决方案的跟进。整个流程需要在至少2个不同教室带领。

Note: The goal is that all essential activities be taught at least twice, or until the applicant feels confident with the material, prior to attending ACT or requesting co-leading two core workshops.  (PDA pre-approved)

The word “classroom” here is intended to have a broad application. A classroom may be a public or private grade school classroom, an afternoon program classroom, a day or residential treatment program setting, a childcare classroom or a preschool classroom. Other group settings not listed here may be considered appropriate as well.
