Facilitator Information: Hello, I'm from the U.S.A., living in Switzerland for 30 years. I have 2 wonderful adult sons living in Denver, Colorado and one wonderful adult wife (their mother) living with me in Switzerland.
My professional and academic training:  BA in Ecology-Conservation, Vassar College, New York State 1979;  BS and Teacher Certification in Science Education, University of Maryland at College Park 1986
Teacher and School Director at an international school in the Swiss Alps 1993-2011;  Special Ed teacher in Swiss public school. 2013-2022

Workshop Description:  This interactive on-line live and streamed video workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors.  Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to: 

  1. Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches. 
  2. Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures. 
  3. Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect. 
  4. Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change. 
  5. Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving. 
  6. Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.

Additional InformationThis course not only gives you the skills and preparation you need to be able to successfully bring Positive Discipline into your classroom, it also awards you with the official certification of the Positive Discipline Association, recognized as a mark of excellence in countries around the globe.  Participants also appreciate the contact with other experienced teachers from different countries and leave the course enthusiastic about implementing PD in their classrooms and schools.

The Positive Discipline Association is pleased to provide the opportunity for educators to earn graduate-level university credit. Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. Positive Discipline Association courses approved for Graduate-Level Semester Credits through University of the Pacific will appear on an Official Transcript with a letter grade.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. 

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
