Trainer Information:
I am Yogi Patel, the founder of Yogi Patel - Transformation Through Empowerment, a consultancy specializing in Positive Discipline and Montessori education. With a rich background as the former Head of Schools and owner of Kinderhouse Montessori Schools, my passion lies in educating and nurturing children while offering personal guidance to parents and educators. I conduct Positive Discipline seminars and educational training for teachers, parents, and children of all ages,.
Before becoming a Certified Montessori Teacher and a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, I managed businesses and spearheaded an employee training program for one of PepsiCo's restaurant chains. Here in San Diego, I completed the Association Montessori Internationale training program and established my first Montessori School in 2001, later expanding to a second location in 2008.
I find immense fulfillment in helping children and elderly members of society gain a sense of belonging and significance. Outside of my professional pursuits, I enjoy yoga, gardening, and HIIT training. With over three decades of diverse experience, I believe in nurturing individuals to realize their full potential by fostering purpose, creativity, and personal growth. My programs focus on transformation and building leaders characterized by empowerment, empathy, and the ability to make impactful contributions to their communities.
As a certified Master Trainer for Empowering People in the Workplace and a Positive Discipline Trainer, my mission is to ignite a passion for excellence and cultivate respectful, collaborative environments in both personal and professional settings and invite parents and caregivers to see how capable they are.

Workshop Description:
This interactive on-line live and streamed video workshop is designed for parent educators, teachers, therapists, childcare professionals and others who want an effective discipline approach. This method is based on Adlerian Psychology and integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviors. Successful participants will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and will:
- Learn research based and effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive)
- Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert.
- Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.
- Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes, and individual work with families.

The Positive Discipline Association is pleased to provide the opportunity for educators to earn graduate-level university credit. Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. These credits are for licensure renewal and salary step increases only. The cost of graduate-level credit is separate from the workshop registration fee. Click Here for more information.
Positive Discipline Association courses approved for Graduate-Level Semester Credits through University of the Pacific will appear on an Official Transcript with a letter grade.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop.
In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
