Cost: $449 Early Registration, available until 01/08/25. $499 Regular Registration. Groups of four (4) or more take $50 off the fee. Limit 30 participants.  This cost covers the Positive Discipline certification only.  Please see below "Additional Information" for an additional seminar day and cost.

Additional Information:

This workshop also includes a special focus on adapting Positive Discipline techniques for children with special needs. Participants will learn strategies tailored to address the unique challenges faced by children with developmental delays, autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, and other special needs. The workshop emphasizes creating inclusive environments and equipping parents and teachers with tools to foster communication, emotional regulation, and positive behavior in ways that honor each child's individual abilities.
This workshop qualifies for 13 Certification hours in Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way.  Additionally there will be themes related to Special Needs and how to incorporate these special circumstances into parenting.  The total workshop time will be 19 hours and 50 minutes with an extra $100 applied at checkout.  


Facilitator Information: 

Sahar Daoud Mohamed is a distinguished pediatric psychiatrist with a doctorate in child mental health, a master's degree in applied psychology, and a master's degree in pediatrics. She currently serves as a Professor of Psychology at the British University in Egypt and is the Head of the Cognitive Social Emotional Department at the Learning Resource Center (LRC). Dr. Sahar has collaborated extensively with organizations such as UNICEF Egypt and the Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS) in areas related to positive parenting, mental health, and disabilities.
Dr. Sahar is certified in several specialized programs, including "You Make the Difference" by the Hanen Center in England, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS-2) from WPS, USA, and she is also a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer and Teacher Educator. Additionally, she holds certifications in The Listening Program, Encouragement Consulting, and is a Certified EMDR Therapist.

Steven Foster is a Positive Discipline LeadTrainer, Licensed Clinical SocialWorker and Co-author of Positive Discipline for Children with Special Needs and the Positive Discipline for Early Childhood Educators Manual.

Workshop Description: 

This is an online interactive and streamed video workshop designed for parent educators, teachers, therapists, childcare professionals and others who want an effective discipline approach. This method is based on Adlerian Psychology and integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviors. Successful participants will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and will:

  1. Learn research based and effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive)
  2. Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert.
  3. Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.
  4. Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes, and individual work with families.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. 

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
